First Class Questions

If this is your first time grappling or trying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, please come to one of our “Intro to BJJ” classes. If this is your first time trying Judo, please come to one of our “Judo Basics” or “Judo All Levels” classes.

For BJJ gi and judo classes, make sure you wear clothes you are comfortable sweating in. We will lend you a gi. For nogi classes, sweat wicking clothes are preferred. Bring water as our classes are also a great workout!

Not at all. Many of our students start our adults program with the same doubts as you when they started. We have students ages 12 to 65 in the same classes coming from a varying fitness levels. Give yourself some time and you will surprise yourself with how much you are able to learn and do.

Start with a free trial class, then visit us on the scheduled day. Finally, choose a membership that fits your goals.

Consistent participation of 2-3 times a week is recommended for noticeable progression.

We offer 10 percent off certain memberships for active military members.

We encourage parents and kids to train at the same time! The most common pairing is 6pm Kids Judo which runs concurrently with 6pm Intro to BJJ for parents.

We welcome drop ins! Our drop in rate is 30 per day. Shoot us an email and let us know when you plan on coming by.
Uniform Policy
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (nogi): All students and visitors are required to wear a rashguard. Male students and visitors must wear full length spats and shorts over the spats. Female students and visitors must wear at least full length spats. Those wearing shorts with no spats will not be allowed on the mat. First time students on their trial class will be the only exception. Our uniform policy is a hygiene courtesy to all members of the gym.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (gi) and Judo: A gi is required for all gi classes. Shirts or rashguards are required underneath the gi. First time students on a trial class will be lent a gi.
Muay Thai: Students need their own hand wraps, boxing gloves, and shin guards. First time students on a trial class will be lent the above equipment.
