Class descriptions
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
Basics: Class is focused on learning foundational offense and defense, positions, and core concepts in BJJ. Fundamentals are not only for beginners, though — they are timeless techniques present at even the highest levels of competition.
All levels: Class is focused on implementing and skill development, especially positional and live sparring. Students should expect to steadily push themselves mentally and physically.
NO-GI GRAPPLING
Basics: Like the gi basics class, this class is focused on foundational movements, but for submission-based grappling without the traditional gi. No-gi grappling focuses on clinch and ground fighting, including wrestling takedowns.
All levels: Like the gi all levels class, this class is focused on application of skill by live training.
WOMEN’S BJJ
Women-led class focused on jiujitsu skill development and situational sparring
JUDO
Students will become proficient in fighting from their feet, as they learn to throw and trip while standing. We place a heavy emphasis on throwing and being thrown and falling safely. There is plenty of drilling and randori in class. All levels are welcome.
MUAY THAI / KICKBOXING
Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs", as it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Class will be focused on technical pad work, agility work, and safe sparring.
OPEN MAT
We set the timer for rounds and the rest is up to you! Some students choose to spar every round, while others will workshop their techniques, drill, ask questions, or hang out. All students from any school or affiliation are welcome.
WOMEN’S OPEN MAT
10 rounds of live training with a competition focus. A great opportunity for women to train with other women with different styles and levels. All female grapplers welcome from any school or affiliation, one year of experience recommended.
